The undersigned residents submit that the current condition of the cereal box tab constitutes a daily and avoidable failure.
(1) WHEREAS, the tab is understood by all parties to be decorative;
(2) WHEREAS, the box, once opened, cannot be returned to a closed state by any known method;
(3) WHEREAS, the contents go stale on a schedule no household has agreed to;
NOW THEREFORE, the undersigned request that boxes be manufactured to close, and to remain closed, without the intervention of a clothespin.
